Shucks i haven't done much studying at all this whole week, especially with Gordon's return. Catching up with all of them these past 2 days really reminds me of old times, memorable ones. Somehow we never seem to run out of topics to talk about though we haven't seen each other in a while.

Damn, it's barely into the first few weeks of school but i'm already feeling the pressure. Pressure of promos! I don't wanna retain! I guess coming in for the 2nd intake really leaves much catching up to do. Must work hard, must work hard.

It seems like what happened for soccer last year is happening again this year. An injury to someone in my position! Happened last year which allowed me to get and retain a first-team spot. But now what sets me from playing in the 'A' divs is the darn bloody Beep Test. Why is it mandatory? Even S-League players are having trouble passing. I need a miracle to pass it on Mon. I need a sudden boost to my stamina!

So it's been a while since my last post. Well its hard just to even come online nowadays, much less post.

I must admit life's been really different now. A whole new environment, new friends. I must say being in the same environment for 4 years and with a sudden change of environment just doesn't feel the same.

I do feel comfortable with my new class in CJ, but definitely not as comfortable as the old days. I really miss the familiarity. Everything's just new in CJ.

Well i know this post should have been done weeks back but i must say i'm in the midst of adapting 100% to CJ.

Meeting up with 'old' friends really makes me think back and miss those times.

CJ

Well i'm glad to say that i did actually managed to enjoy myself during the orientation, though it was just for 2 days. I guess CJ's way of bonding people during orientation is quite an effective one. They get the groups to play games that gets you all wet and dirty so that everyone can feel sort of embarrassed and that you'll laugh at one another. Almost all the games i played in for the 2 days got my shirt all dirty, with paint, floor, honey and all.

So the finale night was supposedly the climax of the orientation and well it was fun at first but it all got abit dull until the mass dance that is. And like everyone else, i had no idea how my house, Solas, won overall champion house, Arator totally outdid every other house. And because i missed the learning and practice sessions on the first 2 days, i had to master the dance moves of 3 songs in an hour or so but it was all just plain fun in the end, though i wasn't a great dancer haha. That was what actually got everyone so hyped up, it was great.

MARCUS, if you're reading this you should know that you pangseh-ed us today and you had better join us for the next gathering ah!

YJC

Today was day 1 of YJ's orientation. I must admit i didn't really enjoy it today. I guess it's maybe 'cause i wasn't really expecting to be posted there. With expectations of still going back to CJ, i couldn't really concentrate on the orientation today.

Today was all about talks and sample lectures. They should have held the talks in the afternoon instead 'cause i was pretty much sleeping through it all. My OG's not too bad to begin with, there's this one guy there who reminds me so much of Melwin hah, the way he speaks and his likable. I'm not the only one in my OG that's appealing out actually, nearly half of my group is, including my leader. Well, i know i was out of the school the moment the gate was opened, just didn't feel like attending the lectures.

I guess YJ's actually not a bad school to study in, it's just having been to CJ, i prefer the atmosphere and vibe there much better. I would just leave this to destiny. Hopefully, my appeal is successful and that my training's there for the past few months wouldn't be futile. Should i have to stay in YJ, i guess i would just try my best there. With that much said, i'm giving school a miss tomorrow.

4E2

Yesterday was our first class gathering since school ended. It was great. I could see that everyone was having a good time, i certainly did. Games and catching up were all really enjoyable. I had a really awesome time with this bunch of people over the past 2 years. Though there were the occasional misunderstandings, we almost always looked past each others' differences. 4E2'07 has definitely got to be the best class of my life. No wonder people say you enjoy the best time of your life during your secondary days.

Fitness

Once again, this post is dedicated to CJ's training regime.

Today i attended the first fitness training for the soccer team and i was in for a treat. We had to run up a hill which is about a 10 min jog from CJ's back gate. We had 3 repetitions of the uphill runs before more sprinting exercises in the school itself.

I'm just quite amazed between the difference of secondary school football and college football. The trainings for one is totally different. There was no such thing as fitness training only and there wasn't a day last year which i came home from training feeling totally exhausted. This year even before school has started, i'm already coming home feeling lethargic.

In JC, there's like a season for the JCs which stretches over the course of the year which starts in April and now CJ is already in some pre-season tournament. Sounds like EPL man. Last year, there were only South Zone and Nationals, if you qualify. And the whole soccer season for the year ended in March/April last year.

Already begun their fitness training some time ago, the team's fitness level is amazing. I'm just trying my best just to keep up with the last man during our fitness training!

Amazing Race

The final episode of the Amazing Race Asia just ended. I'm proud to say that team Singapore, Adrian and Collin won. To me, this was one of the best AR i've watched in the many seasons. All three teams in the top 3 were all really good teams, especially Marc and Rovilson, who played clean and really very admirably besides being good-looking and funny. Just to add, i think that Marc really shares an uncanny resemblance with VJ Utt.

So school starts next Wednesday. I'm still trying to believe how fast this post 'O' Levels holiday has been. Maybe because of work but it sure doesn't feel like 2-3 months of break. To be honest, i feeling a little apprehensive towards having to start school so soon. A new school, environment, teaches and people. It does not help seeing the PAE J1s in CJ already being so attached to each other. I certainly just hope to be able to fit in in CJ.

Not Enough

I guess me training up for CJ's team is not enough. Finally went for my first training today after a long time. It was very very draining, physically. I couldn't even last the 15 sets of 100m run continuously. I wonder how am i going to cope especially when school starts since training's 3 times a week and sometimes even on Saturdays. What's more, i only got home at 8 today. It has been great fun working there. You can say i was put sort out of my comfort zone when Edwin and gang left HP and Marcus being in a different team. I had to make get to know my teammates/HP colleagues from scratch. It was hard at first cos mostly 2/3 of the telemarketers are from NYJC. I fitted in rather well and really began to like my colleagues very much. When i left today, it was quite sad actually cos they're just so nice and funny.

I guess i'm also blessed with nice Bosses. Both Zack and Jeffrey have been great all the time. They never really gave me a hard time nor did they get impatient with me. They gave me the chance to lead though i'm the youngest in the office. What i learnt from Jeffrey especially would definitely help me next time when i head out to the corporate world.

After working for this long, i'd really want to get back to studying. Furthermore, i'm now extra driven to study hard so as to to land a boring office job in the future. I guess there's more to this job than just telemarketing.

#2

Time at work today passed surprisingly fast. Maybe cos i was talking to everyone and doing not much work. The office was funny today, especially when we were caught in the rain during lunch and two of our colleagues bringing a pink umbrella down. I was shocked and tickled. I had fun at work. When HP had a deadline to submit something today, the whole second row helped us sort and count, i was so touched haha.

So after work i went to sign up for the trial at California Fitness with my sister. Wow it was a really good workout as compared to yesterday. My sister really knows her stuff and taught me how to go about the gym. I'm aching all over, hah! So more to come, i've to make full use of my trial. My sister says i've to get my good rest tonight if not i won't be able to wake up tomorrow!

I Must Train

So i headed down to CJ for the match against the CJ alumni on Saturday. I only played 30 mins but boy was i panting badly throughout my playtime. So i really really have to train up my stamina in time for the tournament in Feb. I don't wanna get into the team and sit on the bench.

Today was session #1 with Kaka. Managed to do quite abit but i must continue this for at least 2 weeks in order to match up with the rest of the team. Speaking of which Kaka, don't worry cos i think the last 2-3 months worth of your serious football training will surely put you in the team. Your hard work won't go unnoticed.

Relieved

4 years of school life all down to this one faithful day. Honestly, i'm satisfied with my results. I'm grateful to God for my results. My 10 points jump for each of the previous 3 exams were all due to Him.

I guess i'm that satisfied cos i managed to prove some people wrong. One person in particular is Mr Gunawan. Mid-year when i dropped to combined science and failed badly for Bio, he looked down on me, till the point which i felt like not taking sciences altogether. It was my all-time low. But still this 'O' Level, despite playing soccer on the day of Bio paper, i still managed a C5. My first pass for Bio for the entire year, or rather the first non-F9. Today, I felt like shoving my cert in his face. It's because of him that i don't think i'll take Bio in JC. He made me lose all interest in Bio.

Another person which i badly wanted to prove wrong is CJ's principal, Brother Paul. I went for the DSA interview with him. At that point of time i had 30+ for my L1R5. Though it was that bad, he told me that he doubted my ability of scoring below 20 so i wasn't granted the standard DSA. I hate being doubted. So i jumped nearly 20 points since mid-years so i'll see what he has to say should he recognize me.

I guess being looked down upon, especially after dropping my sciences, really drove me to prove people wrong. I'm proud to say i proved myself right. I'm just glad to see my family happy for me.

Lastly, Happy 17th Edwin aka Kaka!!!!!!!

The Wait Goes On...

Though its still like 2 days away from the release of the results, i'm still super duper nervous. I guess almost everyone awaiting results would feel the same way. I so anxiously wanna get back my results and see how i'd fare but on the other hand, i don't wanna get it back, for fear that i've done badly. If so, i would not wanna face the harsh reality. This feeling really gives me butterflies in my stomach. Like almost literally.

Today, i found myself having little appetite, as compared to other days. For dinner, i ate like 1/4 of what i'll usually have for dinner. I find myself constantly thinking about the results. I tossed around in my bed last night for quite some time thinking about 'what ifs'. Whenever i've any free time in the office, i would start to ponder over the results again.

Actually, i guess its more about disappointing the people around me that scares me. My friends, siblings, tuition teachers and most importantly, my parents. They've spent so much on tuition for me and have such high hopes pinned on me. I really really don't wanna let them down.

Thursday

Thursday is probably by far the most important day in my life. The mood in the office (maybe just for me) was rather stale, no one around me was actually seriously working in the afternoon and everyone was just staring at the clock, hoping time would somehow quicken up.

Highlight of today definitely being that Jeffrey upgraded the RAM space of the Mac absolutely free. To think yesterday he told me he'll charge me cheaper so i was expecting something like maybe $50 but wow, he really surprised me today. I'm excited! Yesterday was MO 2007 and today this!

Dinner was fun. We spent like nearly 2-3 hours chatting. If only time passed that fast in the office. Once again hearing stuff about JC life. Well i also hear stories in the office too since easily 80% of the telemarketers are from JCs.

So i decided that should i not take up Soccer as a CCA this year. I shall try to enroll myself into the flying CCA, the pilot thing. After recommendations from Jia Wen and Jeffrey, i think i should really give it a go.

Amazing

I would like to dedicate this post to something that caught and retained my attention for the whole day. MacBook Air.

I first caught sight of it on the newspaper this morning and i was instantly stunned. The first thing i did when i got home was to view this wonder. Steve Jobs did a great job in introducing Air. He pulled it out of a brown envelope and there it was. I couldn't believe the thinness of the notebook. He emphasized on the fact that the performance was not compromised, everything was just going micro. What especially wowed me was the multi-touch gesture implemented on the touch pad which was incorporated from iTouch. Superb.

Wonderful product, i think it'll be a IT phenomenon just like when Nano was released. Well, it was great seeing her expression after opening her present. It just feels great seeing someone smile genuinely after opening a present of yours. I guess that's the joy of giving.

Happy Birthday Mum!

Adult Concessions

Argh... The day has finally arrived. I hopped on the bus this morning, tapped my wallet against the ez-link machine and i was greeted with one continuous 'teet' sound. The first thing that got onto my mind was to try and renew it, just like how i did 2 weeks ago. That was the first thing i tried to do upon reaching Orchard station but the ticket office would only open at 10, so after work it was.

Well so after work we headed again to the ticket office at Orchard station and i was spoken to quite rudely about the fact that i'm no longer a student. That lady behind the counter was really getting on my nerves so i just demanded my card back, left her with some of my displeasure and left.

So we came up with a plan to head to another ticket office and try to pass of as students, either as JC students or retainees. So Bishan ticket office it was. There the counter person explained nicely to me why she couldn't renew my card so i just had to bite my tongue and accept the fact.

My fare prices now would now increase, maybe even by double so i guess i just have to plan my route better next time.

Time

With work, time seems tighter than ever. At 5.45pm, it seems like the best timing in the world, freedom. At home time seems to pass super fast, while at work, needless to say. Now i guess i can truly understand how it's like having to go through working life. 3-4 hours of free time each day is definitely not enough. Again, so many things to do with so little time. Well i guess this way i can really appreciate good company. As much as i wanna quit, i can't. I've to persevere till at least the end of the month. I want a time machine to stall time.

Oooo and i just realised that someone left me a comment after my WWRY post. My bank was decreasing in numbers at a frightening pace. And now its another month of spending. On the 4th was Estee's birthday and i've yet to get her present (oops!). She's been really nice and all and she deserves something nice.

This coming Wednesday, the 16th, sees my Mum's birthday. For all the work she's put in and being a wonderful mother of 3, she definitely deserves something worthwhile. My sis and i have already sort of decided on what to get for her. We're planning to get her a new phone.

Just a few days later on the 19th is my Brother's birthday. His 21st birthday. Of course we've to get him a present worthy of the occasion. We've in mind what to get for him but i can't say it out cos i know he'll be reading this.

The week after will see my cousin's birthday on the 22nd and Edwin's on the 24th. January oh January.

Oh well, got news from Yong Wang on the release of the results. As quoted from Cambrige's website,

"Examination results for Cambridge International A Levels, O Level and Cambridge IGCSE from the November 2007 session will be released to staff at Cambridge Centres on Monday 21 January."

Thus i guess we would receive it a few days later, most probably on the 25th.

The Release

The results for the 2007 GCE 'O' Level Examinations are widely expected to be released around the third or fourth week of January 2008. Speculated dates include 22 & 28 January.

Candidates (except DSA/DPA) would then be able to opt for either a Pre-University education or polytechnic education. Had 3 trials before lunch and i was so poised up but none came after. 3's not too bad though. So after lunch we were casually chatting with my boss, and he was saying he could sort of like read palms and so he read mine. From reading my palm he derived that in the future, i'm gonna have a boy and maybe a girl (note to Edwin & Melina: not by myself of course). I'm gonna enjoy a relatively long life, with heavy responsibilities on my shoulders and when asked about the release of the results (as if he's God, hah), he just said that i would have the chance to further my studies after army, well i could only interpret it the way as i see it. Only time will tell if he's right and accurate. He ended the palm reading by saying that he's predicting what would happen with my life through just my palm and thus, how i want my life to turn out would just simply be within the grasp of my hands, wooo... Listening to a brief overview of his career was really interesting, especially to how he got to where he is, with just an ITE certificate. Pretty amazing huh, with his salary being quite attractive as well.

After work was fun. Dinner with good food with my great buds. Met Bean, Sheryl's doggy, who never failed to keep my hands dry. What followed by basketball (with my long pants) and Polar Bear with the rest. That game just never fails to stimulate the mind. One word to describe it all, awesomefun.

P.S. Didn't include boss' name so that he won't be able to google his name and find this site, which he's good at.

We Will Rock You

Just saw the advertisement on TV, the We Will Rock You concert. Since both of us were pretty much confined to the four walls of our home, we only had each other for company. We spent our time like how we would use to in the past. We were almost inseparable in the past. I still remember the times where we would play PS throughout the day, even going sleepless at nights. I still recall the week before my PSLE and his 'O' levels, we were still playing like mad, like there was no tomorrow. We would play for the whole day and just study for 2-3 hours at night, and it would be the day right before the exams! Luckily he was admitted to the army during the 'O' levels cos i doubt i would have concentrated as much as i did. Like old days, we spent the the past 2 days playing Fifa, watching movies, experimenting with our own dishes for supper and of course catching up on each other. It has been awhile since i really had a good conversation with him, especially with his tight NS schedule and Estee so these past few days has been good.

Bittersweet

So the doctor had a good look and both our eyes. Our eyes are infected and contagious enough for either my brother or i to pass it to each other within a matter of hours on Tuesday night cos my brother left for camp at 11pm that night. So i'm on MC for 2 days. They prescribed me with a stronger eyedrop. One which would leave a really bitter taste lingering in your mouth minutes after you drop it in your eye. Apparently the glands which runs around our face are sort of interconnected, especially the eye glands and the taste ones, thus the bitterness. Sorry Marcus, you've to eat with someone else during lunch for these 2 days, and i don't think you can catch up on Tila Tequila with me anymore.

Strange?

My brother has a sore eye on his right eye, like me.
He had it since Wednesday, like me.

His right eye is smaller than his left, like mine.

He thought it would go away after a good night rest, like me...

But it didn't.

My Eyes

I'm not going to be online for long. I woke up from my nap at 8 and through my window i saw the campfire just being lit and it looked really impressive. I told myself i must head down to check out all the fun.

I reached Whitley 30 min later disappointed. The fire was almost nearly dead and the spirit wasn't exactly lively. Watching the Sec 1s however, really brought back memories. Memories of the days when i was short and fat. But at least i got to see new Whitley and wow, it's nice. The school feels really new, clean and exciting. I can imagine myself collecting my results at the hall in just a few weeks time.

I guess the releasing of the results will really determine my future in a huge way. I told myself that i'll be satisfied with myself with whatever the outcome. I just really really hope i can make it into a JC. What my sister said to me on New Year's day really hit me, she said that i'm my family's last hope of getting into a JC. I guess the possibility of me not heading to a JC would just disappoint my whole family, not just me, so i'm just praying for the best.

My First Pay Cheque

As my title states, i received my first pay cheque today. At least i can finally say that i know how hard is it to earn money, especially with my meagre pay.

My body has reacted to my body's lack of rest. With staring at the computer screen for 7.5 hours for the past few days, my right eye has turned sore. Thought it would go away after a day but it's still here and it looks like i'm gonna take a break from work tomorrow.

So met with the Superheroes for dinner today. Gone are the days of much laughter in class and football after school, regardless of whether we're playing against E1 or under void decks. Gone of the days of 'tian tian lai' hokkien mee and 'ji fan jia fan'. Gone are the days of 4E2.

On a brighter note, its the new year! 2008! The year of Euro 2008, the year of the F1 being held here and... well I can't think of anymore exciting things to come in 2008.

Well given a choice, i'd rather still be in Whitley and packing my bag for tomorrow. That's not the case however. So good luck all those heading to school tomorrow, your JCs. Many events that happened throughout the course of this year would just leave me with a smile should i recount them in the future.

I welcomed 2007 at Joanne's place with great company and fun (we played hell alot of Taboo). Come February i was heading off to OBS. An experience that would definitely stay. OBS made me do things i wouldn't expected myself to complete. All in all, OBS was great and anyone given a chance should grab it. Pity i missed out on Sabah, all thanks to an empty promise.

March came and i was off again, this time to Germany and Poland. Since it was my first time entering Europe, it was really an eye-opener. The 10 days spent there were definitely awesome. The architecture, people, and weather there was just so different. The feel to Europe is just amazing.

The June holidays weren't really significant besides my trip to Bangkok. On the night on my Confirmation, i was having dinner with my family, my Godparents and cousin. Then my cousin casually remarked that he was wanting to head to Bangkok to get some clothes and stuff there and my sister was like, "yeah me too!" And so the idea came along and the 3 of us, with my brother, headed there few days later. I was surprised with my Mum being so calm about it. Nonetheless, it was once again amazing. This time there i managed to catch the Cabaret ladyboy show. Needless to say my hair was standing for most of the show especially when one of the performer shoved her fake breasts into the face of one of the audience member. I was invited on stage for one of the performance and of course, i resisted joining them with my life. But actually i enjoyed the performance. Well the summary of the trip would be going there with merely 3 tees and coming home with my luggage full.

Back from all the trips brought about the reality of life, the 'O' Levels. I must say that my preparation for it wasn't a 100% thorough but i must say i gave it my best shot. Actually, the preparations brought me close to a friend, i would like to call him Peter Parker. I guess i really got to know him on a personal level at TP. The 4 of us, Parker, Chia and Choo, really bonded through that period of time and i must say my friendship with them is undoubtedly the best i've had in my 4 years in Whitley. Thanks much Edwin and Marcus, you guys have been great company and fun.

This year also brought me my best friend in Gordon. He was really someone i could count on anytime. Throughout October and November, i had meals and studied with him almost every other day. I really opened up to him and so did he. Too bad he has gone back and won't be coming back to study. I would sincerely like to thank him for his friendship.

2007 has been wonderful and i just hope 2008 would be somewhere the awesomeness of this year. Writing this post has indeed put a smile on my face. Thanks for all the memories. Reading this means you've a part to play in these memories, thank you.

Saturdays

Like every Saturday for the past 3 weeks, it rained before football. At least now i'm glad to say it's friday, and it's gonna be a long weekend! So much things for me to do this weekend i doubt there'll be enough time. Tons of DVDs waiting for me. But what i'm actually looking forward to is the countdown party on Monday. Come to think of it, i've been spending New Year's Eve over the past couple of years with different sets of people, with something prominent happening each year. I wonder what it'll be this year.

Speaking of which, i really pity my Brother.

He has to spend the last few moments of 2007 and the first few of 2008 guarding our nation. He'll have to countdown to the new year with his fellow guard.
